Gintaras Grajauskas
Gintaras Grajauskas (born in 1966 in Marijampolė). Poet, essayist, play- and prose-writer, songwriter and performer. Graduate of the Department of Instrumental Music of the Faculty of Arts at Klaipėda University. He is a compiler of the literary supplement „Gintaro lašai“ /Amber drops/ to the daily „Klaipėda“ and a literary director of Klaipėda Drama Theatre. He plays a bass guitar and sings in the blues rock band “Kontrabanda”. G. Grajauskas’ poems are translated into English, German, Swedish, Korean, Finnish, Polish, Latvian, Estonian, Russian and other languages. Refraining from straightforward declaration of meaning, he creates a unique world with insightful, ironic, and subtle minimalist poetry, where trivia is particularly important. He is the laureate of many prestigious awards in the field of culture. Lives and works in Klaipėda.
