Donatas Bielkauskas

Donatas Bielkauskas (born in 1977 in Jurbarkas). Musician multi- instrumentalist, composer, sound engineer. Studied Folk Music in the Faculty of Arts at Klaipėda University. He teaches at the Schoolchildren Self-Expression Centre in Klaipėda, is an art director at the Ethnic Culture Centre in Dovilai. He is the key figure in neo-folk, ambient, “experimental” project DONIS, active participant on the Lithuanian neo-folk stage, who has collaborated with countless performers and projects: „Wejdas“, „Driezhas“, „Inconnu“, „Atalyja“, „Kūlgrinda“, etc. His music, characterized by well-developed, yet subtle sound, has been used in many soundtracks of feature films and documentaries. Lives and works in Dovilai.
